Off to Carpentry School
Three young men from our orphanage have started on a new season of life! They are going to carpentry school! Joe, Chikhalipo and Batiwero have completed their primary education. All of them passed their Standard 8 primary exams! We are so proud of them! It is a huge accomplishment to finish primary school, especially when you add obstacles like starting late and learning in a different language.
One of the greatest challenges we face is transitioning kids out of the orphanage into adult life. It is difficult to get our children moved back into the village, getting along with family members, caring for themselves. We need your prayers for these three young men, Joe, Chikhalipo and Batiwero as they start their new training.
The program they have entered is an apprenticeship with the master carpenter who does most of our carpentry work at the Grace Center. His name is Tom and he is excited to help these young men learn his trade. They’ll do 6 months as beginners to test their aptitude for the skill and their attitude towards learning the skill. The program will last for 2 to 3 years depending on their aptitude, attitude and work ethic.
Thank you for praying for Joe, Chikhalipo, Batiwero and Tom!
