Grace Community Health Center
Our Outpatient Clinic opened in January 2019. We see patients from our local and extended community. Our Community Health Center mission is to empower community transformation through holistic, compassionate, sustainable, accessible, high-quality, and Christ-centered health care services. Our motto is “Pursuing wholeness and dignity for every person.”
The Karly Glibert Maternity Wing
We are extremely proud of our newly completed and christened program for expectant mothers — The Karly Glibert Maternity Wing opened in August 2020!
This project has included renovations to existing buildings to provide housing for our RN and Midwife as well as a hostel for mothers to stay in the last week or two of their pregnancy or if they are experiencing complications and need to stay near the hospital.
We are so grateful to everyone who has donated and worked so hard to make this vision a reality! It is certainly a labor of love and dedication!
Public Health Department
Our most recent addition to the services available through Grace Community Health Center is Public Health services including family planning, HIV/AIDS testing and counseling, prenatal care, vaccinations, screenings for TB, cervical cancer, high blood pressure, etc. In addition to these programs, our Public Health department provides vaccinations and clinics for Under 5 years children, post-natal care and much more.
Permaculture Maternity Garden
Patients, families, and staff can benefit from a health center that provides access to healthy and nutritious food and an inspirational learning environment. Women will learn how to create resilient backyard garden designs, integrate diverse plants, make compost, plant and maintain trees, and manage waste. Women will also learn the importance of delivering at a health facility, having skilled attendants during delivery, and the benefits of the maternal waiting home. Throughout the project, pregnant women will see in tandem their healthy, growing bellies and healthy, growing home gardens.
Future Development
Our vision for Grace Community Health Center is to become the comprehensive healthcare provider of choice and advance healthcare through education, innovation, and research in Malawi and beyond.
RIGHT NOW…We are ready to take the LEAP to Community Hospital status! This is a huge transition for our health center, with four major hurdles to jump: 1) Laboratory – done; 2) Ward - built but not furnished; 3) Surgery Center - starting now and 4) Radiology – soon!
