Welcoming Goodwell to our Family

Goodwell came to live in Timothy and Patricia's Home on Thursday last week. He has been living mostly on the streets for the past several months. His mother is severely mentally ill and unable to care for him, and his father was killed in a car accident several years ago. Recently, his chronically ill grandmother has been struggling to provide for him. The family has no other living relatives. Goodwell will begin tutoring sessions this week as he has never been to school and he speaks a different language from the children in our community.

It was very difficult for Goodwell to say goodbye to his grandmother. She lives quite far from the Grace Center and he will likely just be able to see her once a year during school holidays.

It hasn’t taken long for Goodwell to fit in with the other boys in our home and to start learning Chichewa. His tutor reports that he is learning very quickly!
