Our Orphanage on Lock Down

Just typing that title makes me feel like something terrible is happening, but when I video chat with the children each day on Whatsapp, their happy laughter and antics let me know that while the pandemic is raging around the world, we’ve been able to create a bubble of safety and joy for the kids.

March 21, 2020 -- Update

On Thursday, the State Department moved to Travel Advisory Level 4. This statement indicates that US citizens should consider returning to the US immediately. The Circle of Hope board, through careful conversations and prayer times Friday and Saturday with Tad and Karly and Clint Baldwin, Executive Director of Word Made Flesh, has unanimously voted to temporarily call our missionaries home to the US.

March 19, 2020 -- Covid-19 Pandemic Update

We’ve been monitoring respiratory diseases at Grace Community Health Center for the past year. Earlier this month, we started bi-weekly checks instead of monthly checks on our patient data to watch for any upticks in respiratory illnesses coming into the clinic. To date we have not seen any changes. Starting Monday, March 23rd, we will move to weekly data checks.

It Takes a Village!

I know we’ve all had times when we’ve experienced this with our kids. It is just so hard to raise children on your own. One of the reasons we have children in our orphanage is because of the death of one parent. That’s what happened with the Fadison kids.
