Each Step Closer To Completion
Some hurdles seem almost impossible to clear! The dream of having our own Maternal Care Center was birthed in 2012 in response to seeing many babies coming into our orphanage whose mothers had died in childbirth. At that time, we decided that caring for mothers during pregnancy as well as having a safe place to deliver babies needed to become a priority. The hurdles seem impossible.
I’m thankful that we serve a God of great vision and patience. He is never late or slow. He is always faithful to fulfill his promises. Miraculously God provided the needed funds for building the Maternity Center. He raised up individuals and churches who gave sacrificially and generously for this need. He raised up Tad and Karly Glibert to go to Malawi and oversee the building of the structure and Dr. Levison Kawotcha to lead tirelessly in this endeavor. We are grateful for every person who gave, led, worked and sacrificed to bring this dream to reality.
There are still hurdles to clear. They’re laid out on the track before us: Nurses Council approval, Public Health inspection and Public Health officers assigned to our health center, last minute fixes and supplies to purchase. Will you join us in praying for these to be completed? For favor in the inspections and the stretching of the last of the resources to meet the need.
Earlier this year, the our Malawian staff voted to name the Maternity Center, The Karly Glibert Maternity Wing at Grace Community Health Center. We are so grateful to Karly and to Dr. Kawotcha for their tireless service in bringing our vision to reality. We can’t wait to start helping mothers and delivering babies!
