Why Sponsor? -Alissa Trost

I’ve had the joy of traveling to Malawi three times now and each time I’ve returned home with a little bit less of my heart. I could share the tales of countless children whose stories have left a lasting impression on my life. My first summer I left and knew I was going to have to go back, but I wanted to stay connected in the meantime. One of the best ways I knew to do that was to sponsor a child. Sponsorship has always been a way for me to stay connected and to continue being a part of the story God is writing in Malawi.

While I would love to sponsor each child that has made an impact on my heart, the list has grown too long. I love that I now have the opportunity to call it my job to help you, your friends, your family, get connected to the story God is writing in Malawi. I am able to learn the stories of our hundreds of children and then share the joys and struggles with their sponsor.

Sponsorship has allowed me to stay in the lives of the children across the world who I love so dearly. We can write each other letters, share pictures, and I can send gifts to ensure their needs are met. To those who already sponsor a child, two children, or 15, THANK YOU, to those who haven’t yet made the commitment will you consider selecting a child today?

Visit cohcommunity.org/sponsor to see some of the children available for sponsorship or email me, Alissa@cohcommunity.org, I would love to share a story of a child and get you involved as a sponsor!
