Becoming Engaged

As a sponsor, I am continually seeking ways I can become more engaged with my sponsored children. I want to know more about them, show them they are loved, and help meet their needs. From a distance it isn’t always easy, and is sometimes quite limiting. But I still feel the call on my heart to care for the widows and the orphans. (James 1:27- Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.)

As summer approaches, two great opportunities are available for you to become engaged.

1) Letter Writing Party: I don’t know about you, but I love snail mail. Especially from those I care most about. Just like us, our children in Malawi love receiving letters and pictures from their sponsors! Consider writing your child before our teams leave this summer. You can mail us your letters and photos (family photos are always fun to send) and we will make sure they are delivered to your child. Then the fun part for you, they are able to write back and answer some of your questions! So, what are you waiting for?? Get writing!

2) House Warming Party: Patricia’s Home is about ready for the girls to move in! The scheduled move in day is May 1, but there is a big problem…they have no furniture. We would love to get them in their house as soon as possible! Check out the Orphan Store on our website to purchase furniture for their home as well as Timothy’s Home. Our goal is to have enough money to purchase all the furniture when the first teams arrive this summer.
