Amy and Emmy are headed to Malawi!

We have an amazing opportunity to serve in Malawi, Africa!

This will be my third year visiting our Malawian Friends and Families and I am THRILLED to bring my daughter, Emerson, with me this year!

While in Malawi, we will continue the work God started 2 years ago -  bringing awareness for children with learning differences to attend school - and last year, equipping teachers and classrooms to meet their specific needs. God brought two amazing, passionate local Malawian teachers to teach our children in the Learning Differences program full-time and we are looking SO forward to connecting with them and continuing to support their teaching efforts!

Additionally, the Holy Spirit has revealed the need for bringing awareness for mental health training in our schools, churches, health care center, and community of Grace Alliance. We will train village leaders in teaching the basics of social-emotional concepts and trauma-informed care. Emerson will help lead nurture groups with younger children, plan celebratory events for our older children, and teach new games such as spikeball and other novel experiences for our Malawian friends. 

As an American serving in Malawi, we are provided with a palpable representation of scripture on a global level – a deeper understanding of the fullness of God’s creativity and revelation of His love for us. In this setting, we find diversity brings unity, not division. While there are undeniable differences in race, culture, language, and socioeconomics between Americans and Malawians, our hearts align in the equality and likeness of Christ’s image for all of humanity. We experience not only the Warm Heart of Africa, but the Perfect Heart of God. As a mom, I am beyond excited to share this time with my daughter
