One of our favorite times of the year is summer. We love taking teams to Malawi and being a part of what God is doing there. It’s still a few months away, but the preparations have begun and we are eagerly anticipating what God will do in and through us all.

June Team:

Debbie Brownlow, Leader, will be traveling with a team of 18 to Malawi in June. This team will be focusing on three areas: Women, Youth and Health. Some members will be praying with women and teaching on a variety of subjects. Our youth will be joining with Malawian youth to pray, worship and minister in the local villages. Our nursing students will be working with our CHE’s (Community Health Evangelists) teaching health and visiting in the villages.

July Team:

Alissa Trost, leader, will be traveling with a team of 16 to Malawi in July. The July team is fairly diverse in the projects they will be tackling. A group of men will be working with the Malawians on a project to install irrigation systems into some of the local farming fields. Our Texas Tech research will continue studying anemia and working with our goat herd. A dietician will be helping educate the community learn about important nutrients and foods rich in these nutrients. Two young women who have studied sign language will be working with Yamikani’s caregivers and other children in Malawi.

The mission of this summer is to have a “Mary Heart”. We do not want to go with the attitude of “doing” but of being with our friends, to learn from each other, to pray with and encourage each other, to partner with what God is already doing there. While we hope to accomplish a lot, we also hope to spend our time building relationship with Malawians, each other and with God.

Be praying with us as we prepare to take off on a grand adventure this summer. Also, be on the lookout for ways you can join with us and help make the trip possible.

Our teams have created a few ways you can help raise the funds needed to get us all to Malawi:
