World Malaria Day -- Step Four: Stop Anemia Program

By now, many of you are familiar with our Meat Feeding Program and the research that we've been doing with Texas Tech University. The research is about finished and we are super excited over the results that are coming in! We'll share those in a few months when the researchers are done gathering their data.

A few weeks ago as we considered our 2014-2015 budget, I asked Pastor Phiri, what about the Meat program? Since our research is done, should we stop this program? He threw a nice Pastor Phiri style fit with a resounding "NO!" His words were, "You can stop anything that you feel you need to stop, but I will not let you stop this program. The impact it is having on the children and families is profound. I can see the difference myself in the children's health and the energy levels of the mothers enrolled in the program."

That was enough for me. So starting in August (as soon as the researchers are done!), we will be expanding the Stop Anemia Program making it available to more children and mothers!
